Front Splash Guard Removal

Does anyone see any potential problems of removing the front splash guard that runs across the front of the enginre compartment? Its the one that is directly under the radiator and covers from that point to the cross memeber. I took it off today and the clips are so flimsy I left it off. Just would like to know if anyone sees a downside from doing this?

Re: Front Splash Guard Removal

I read on here that the engine runs hotter without it. IIRC someone took theirs off after having recurring foglight troubles and found that it messed up the airflow though the engine.

After a quick search I found this:

Poeple are talking about the posts I remembered anyway...
