240SX price review

hey all! my friend just sold his 89 240SX with 210thousand km on it, it doesnt have power steering and needs new brake pads, manual transmission, rear wheel drive, he gave it away for 1800 canadian bucks, he was asking me to ask you guys on this forum if that was a good price to sell that car, it has some minor rust but im sure rust on the fenders isnt that much in hobby drift world

what do YOU think ?

A better place to check would've been through the Kelly Blue Book or a similar used car pricing guide.

we have autotrader here in canada, but it doesnt really give much information on pricing since ppl here dont know these cars too much or just a variety of 240sx's so it'd be nice if someone told me on here

like most other canadian S13's, it was probably rusted to shite underneath.

can't find a clean S13 up here to save your life, unless you look HARD and pay $$.

hard to say unless i saw pics of the car. but considering it didn't have power steering, had 210k, was rusty (usually a death sign) and needed brake pads, $1800 is alot to ask. so your friend should feel lucky.

my friend picked up a '90 hatch with 85,000km on it. not a spot of rust on the body. it was auto, and all it had was a blown headgasket. he got it for $1100. he's currently swapping it to 5-speed and then it'll be on the road.

considering that, your friend ripped off whoever he sold his to.
