1977 suzuki blowing fuses

I have a 1977 suzuki gs-400 and evertime I try to start( button on the handle) the bike it blows a fuse and won't start. Any ideas will help.

Re: 1977 suzuki blowing fuses

I would check your lead from your starter button. Sounds like there could be a short in it somewhere. Something could have cut or burned through the insulation and the bare wire could be in contact with a metal object causing it to blow the fuse. Definately check that first.
