How to take off tail lights? (want to paint)

OK look at this dudes car

the tail lights look really nice painted like that, id like to do the same with my car

it would look somethin like this

but ya how do i remove my tail lights and that middle piece?

and id paint on the inside correct?

pull back the carpet inside your trunk - there are fasteners to undo for each piece...
