Head Unit Power Fails --- Safety Device???
Just recently my headunit, Panasonic CQ-C8400U, started to turn off automatically. No reason why it started to do it, just out of the blue. It turns off and on about 5 times when I start the car and press any button, and then randomly every few minutes. I looked in the user's manual, and it says:
Problem - Power Fails Unintentionally Reason - The Safety Device Works Solution - Call the store where you purchased the headunit, or your nearest Panasonic Service Center. WTF? Its been working fine for weeks. I bought it brand new sealed off ebay, so I cant just take it back where I bought it. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? Thanks. |

see the thread about the alpine 9833 not working. You may have turned the power off inadvertently

Actually, it wasn't anything like that. I observed it for a while, and figured out that the headunit was slightly loose off the actual cd deck. So whenever you press a button on the headunit, it loses power because it is connected loosely. Only solution is to use the remote and not press any buttons :-\

Hey, I have a cd player almost just like yours(cq-c8100u). And I have experienced a problem similer to yours. When I push a button the screen goes blank.... I have found that if you run your finger lightly along the gold conectors on the back of the faceplate, on both the faceplate and the head unit it will stop... I believe that dirt or something like that gets stuck between the conector and it gets a bad connection so when you push a button it loses contact. Hope this helps
