Change in cabin air filter on a '95 Corolla?

I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla and sometimes it stinks up real bad so I would like to change the cabin air filter or anything else that can make it stink.

The problem is that I have no idea how to do it and cannot find a guide.

Thanks

what does it smell like...because if the interior smells, it might be something in the air duct system

I am not sure, it in general stinky, I don't notice it much maybe because I use it but my sister and some friends have problems. Also sometimes when I accelerate harder and I smell a really bad smell partially burning but mostly just an old musty smell kind of and this happens if the A/C or heat is on or the fan is not on at all.

Is there any way to get to and clean the duct system if that is the problem?

Thanks

sounds like some water or something got in there somewhere along the line and its making it musty smelling. best you can do is pull off the grates (not very hard...just dig around until you find the screws and it'll pop right off) and try to clean things out a little. heck...a good shot of febreeeze into the grates might help

I don't have a schematic of your 95 Corolla but I just changed the cabin pollen filter in my 03 Camry and it was amazingly easy. It's located behind the glove compartment. I just opened the glove box, removed one screw from the lower right corner, moved the arm over and gently squeezed each side of the glove box and the glove box opened all the way down which exposed the filter. It's contained in a cassette-like thing so just gently push up and pull out and I had it in my hand. I changed the filter and reinserted. Piece of cake. Hope its this easy for you.
