I remember this discussion.

The car isn't electronically speed controlled. Its top end is gearing and the power to the wheels. I think the gearing in the 6-speeds will take the car into the low 200s - though the 1000 hp or so needed to get there is tough to come by

Edit: How the heck did I forget to put the n't on the word is.....

to answer the question, they are not speed governed

yog's your thinking of the 5-speed, matt monet has taken a 6-speed up to 235 mph before

i don't mean to dog matt monet or you HotShot, i know well of Matt's contributions and milestones in the 3S community, but i'm gonna have to call BS on 235 mph until i see some proof. Simple physics tells us that the aerodynamic, normal, and frictional forces in play at that tremendous speed are phenomenally multiplied than what they would be at say a mere 135 mph (which is still quite fast but definitely achievable). I'm not sure how well the aerodynamics of the 3000GT are designed.

But if you do know, what were the conditions under which Matt Monet achieved this 3S speed record? What kind of power mods and stability mods did he add to his car? Any videos for hard evidence?

Re: top speed limit

all i have ever heard him say is that he has taken it over 200. the 5 speeds max around 200, the 6's around 245 at redline. but assuming you have make the power to get to 245 there is no way you would have a stock redline which would put the top speed again out of reach.

there is no vehicle speed at which the engine cuts out. but it will cut out at 7300 rpm or if the MAF is flowing a certain CFM, I just dont remember the CFM that is required. I do know that it is above the amount that the stock fuel injectors can supply fuel for, so it wont protect you if you crank the boost up.
