celica gts mod.
Hi there. I'm thinking about getting 1994-1996 celica gts because of the look. but I'm not too happy with stock 135hp. and my question is are those cheap mod Chips/sensors really give u +20 hp? or at least +10 hp? I found alot of those selling for $2-$20 on Ebay.
If they don't really work then what's the cheapest way to get to at least 160hp without noisy performance exhaust. THanks |

I bought a chip from ebay for my o1 gt for $15. all it is is a resister that plugs into ur ait sensor. it tricks the ecu into thinking the incoming air is colder and more dense, thus adding more fuel.
In my car i noticed a little differance. but i also have a cai. I am happy with the chip, it took off about one tenth on me et |

Re: celica gts mod.
Those chips on ebay are a joke. You could just save yourself the hassle and go to radio shack and buy a resistor there. I dont see how just a simple resistor could knock one tenth off a quarter mile run.
To get to around 160 your going to have to get a cold air intake with a high flow filter and atleast a catback exhaust. I would think that they sell one that doesnt have a fart can on the back to make your car sound noisy. |

what about ECU?
thanks for the replies. ok, so I guess those resister thing maybe stupid but they are selling for $3 anyway.. but what about those ECU unit? do they give 10-20hp? there is one called "ProBoost Platinum" for $30 on Ebay. Does anyone know if it really works? or is there any better ECU unit that really works? and how much is it?
Thanks |

Re: celica gts mod.
headers intake and exhaust are basically the thigns thatll get u close to that #, try changing ur ignition setup and stuff, if u want an easy 30+ horses look into camshafsts, ull have to upgrade ur ec tho .....
