2001 Bonneville Supercharged, Engine Life?
We all know superchargers beat the Shat out of an engine, but im not really mechanical yet, im young, in high school and whatknot, im pretty good and have alot of skills with cars repairs/installs and such. Anyway to the point... I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville, How long roughly will this supercharged engin last, i herd 250, 000 and poof. If this is true what can be done to protect the engine ie. motor oil, stuff like that?
Please your input would be much appricieated. Anto |

Just maintain your engine. I don't see why a supercharged engine wouldn't last as long as any other engine. Run premium fuel, put the correct spark plugs, synthetic oil and keep up with the change intervals. It's not the supercharger that kills an engine. It's the way the driver beats the engine because it has a supercharger.

You can push it no problem, but anytime you run the piss out of an engine you're not going to get the life out of plugs, oil, etc. As long as you maintain the vehicle to your driving habits, the engine will be fine. I should have worded it differently before.
