computer output gone wrong

hey guys I need some help with my computer output on my 96, for some reason the dang thing will not put a read out to anything that is hooked up to it, I have gone over the wires in the back and can not find anything wrong with them, if you have any idias I would love to here from you.

are you using a scan tool or the old jumper wire trick??? 96-newer vehicles use an OBDII system that requires a scan tool to read. Take it to Auto Zone or Advance, they will scan it for free. If you are using a scan tool, some 95-early 96's have a interim design that requires a special adapter to read, due to a different pin configuration.

Question

I have tried it with the scan tool and it still came up with nothing, the tool shows me nothing at all. It is not the tool because I have used it on another car with no prob, any more tips?

not sure...but would a fuse for the ecu cause that? like a fuse bout to blow or not...? it may be a simple thing like that? or am i just dumb...its late..so i might be

I took it to my down home shop and they have looked to see if it was a fuse, I think that my next best thing is to take it into Chevrolet and tell them that they need to find were it is gone wrong. Thanks to everyone.

If you aren't even getting it to go into read mode, I believe you have a bad ECM. My 91 cav did the same thing, then started to intermittently cut the engine off. It will only get progressively worse

Don't EVER go to a dealership with that mind set.

You might as well give them a blank checkbook too.

They will piss around and hand you a $500 bill for nothing but the same car coming out of the shop.
