4x4 question

I just bought a 2000 silverado Z71 with electronic 4x4

When I switch from 2hi to 4 hi I don't 'feel' anything happening. Is this normal? Is there anything anyone can tell me?

this is my first experience with a 4x4

Sometimes you feel it, sometimes you don't. If you listen close, you should hear a small click. But all in all, it sounds normal.
