Urgent Vita A/C system spare part needed!

Hi all,

This is my first post in these forums. I'm doing maintenance on the A/C system of my Opel Vita 1995 model (Japan import) which I bought last February. A part that needs to be changed is called the "Expansion Valve". I live in Dubai and the Opel dealer here does not stock this part. They issued an order to Germany 2 days ago, then today they call me and to my shock they're telling me they got a response that this particular part's production has discontinued!!

I'm stuck here and have no idea what to do. The weather now (during the summer) here is blazing hot and humid, and getting stuck with a half-functioning A/C system is the last thing you want. If anyone has any idea about where to look or who to contact I'd very much appreciate it. I tried searching the net for an answer but almost all the Vita-related sites I get are in Japanese and I don't speak the language.

If I don't find a solution quick I'll be forced to sell the car and buy some other model which parts are more available (like a Corolla or Civic), but I really hate to do that as I've fallen in love with this car and everything else about it is working perfectly.

Anyone who has any ideas please help. I'll be eternally grateful.

Hi Achievist,
I dont know if you still living with this car as of 2004 Dec. If in case you havent fixed the ac. I suggest you to take a look in Sharjah, in industrial area, somewhere near the BMW R/A area. You may come across plenty of spare part shops having second hand Opel Vita parts.
