Unhappy Ets

[color=purple]The ETS Off light came on and will not go off. It has came on a few times in the past but would always go off if you pressed the button on the side of the shifter. Now it is on and not even the button turns it off. What exactly is the ETS???? After it lit up the car is running really sluggish and my transmission slipped out of gear on the way home. I would appreciate any input I possibly might can get. Thank you.

Re: Ets

you probably have a shift or tcc solenoid going bad in the trans. that would explain the sluggish performance and why the trans slipped out of gear. The ets is a traction control system that detects different wheel speeds and engages/disengages the limited slip clutches to keep the car going straight. The ets off light is an indication that a shift solenoid is not operating withing range so the computer shuts it down to prevent a malfunctioning of the traction control.
