Unhappy Where is the CTS located on 93 3.3l

i have been trying to find on this forum and in books and everywhere to find out where the coolant temperature sensor is located and cannot find it.

the car keeps overheating and we have replaced the thermostat water pump and radiator, also have flushed coolant twice.

Coolant Temp Sensor on the '93 3.3L is underneath the alternator right behind the small black coolant hose on passenger side of motor.

Re: Where is the CTS located on 93 3.3l

i had/have the same knocking sound and it is the bushings on the sway bars, they are worn out and need to be replaced. From what the dealership said the bushings r like 20 or 30 bucks. I fixed my car finally after replacing the heater core and fixing this one fitting that attaches a water line to the side of the intake manifold, it was plastic and cracked.

Re: Where is the CTS located on 93 3.3l

The knocking sound you hear is probably timing chain slap. The factory cam gear is made of nylon (to reduce engine noise) and wear out causing the knock from the front of the engine These engines are a close tolerance, meaning if the timing chain breaks, you could take out the valve train. Check for excessive freeplay in the timing chain , and if present, get it changed. As far as the overheating problem, how hot is it getting? The factory cts is set to turn on the fans around 220-230, so that is normal. Are your fans kicking on?

Re: Where is the CTS located on 93 3.3l

yea my fans kick on after it hits like 130 or so and so does the thermostat my car normally runs at about 120 or whatever it is the 1/4 mark theres 4 marks its normally at the first one and 220 is the middle mark somone else said it might be the waterpump impeller as they tend to fall off and rattle in this engine and it kinda sounds like its comming from the water pump while i have all that off i think i can probably check the timeing chain as well im also going to do a radiator flush i think just so that i did that one more thing lol it cant hurt it thanks ~Doug
