It is possible to get one car imported for personal use, but thats tricky as you have to show proof of ownership and personal use of the car overseas for at least 12 months. Also I think theres like a law that you can't sell it for at least 6 months or something like that after you improt it. Sorry i couldn't help more, all i know is its almost impossible to import any car to Australia now due to these new laws.

Re: importing to AUSTRALIA.
how old r u? u'll get an awesome one for that price, there was a gtst with an an rb26 in it for less than that. yeh they're reliable i know a few ppl who have imported cars through them, including myself, theres a grand service fee which is included in the price and is easily worth it, umm there will be a couple of little things u need to change, like rear view mirror, child restraint etc. very reliable and helpful

stylin32, prestioge motorsports is only a delivery service. they don't get your car on the roads for you and they don't help you with compliance. ALso, their prices are not that great, they're good but not that amazing. Here in the Emirates you can get a GTi-R for around $4-6000 Aussie and an R32 GTR for around $10-12000. but thats without shipping costs and sorry but i don't know how much shipping is.
Check your dads mates car, if its in good condition then buy it, at least you can be sure its from a trusted friend.
