its probably something equivelant to a T-25 or T3.... like 99% of stock turbos are on import engines.

it probably is turbocharged..wouldn't doubt it

Re: Box truck turbo?

If this truck is a diesel, the turbo is probably too large for your aplication. A box truck has a larger displacement motor and probably has a turbo that wasnt designed for it. You have to find out the model and specs of the turbo, and then compare it to similar setups I.E. if has a T3 with an AR in the turbine matching a similar setup that someone else is running, thats OK. A turbo has to be carefully matched to an engine, if not, you may have a lot of "lag" or even a loss in power. This is an advantage of having a turbo kit or having an engine that already has a turbo. My engine has many different turbos I can bolt to it, all have been tried and proven, all I have to do is pick one for my needs. I have tried to use budget turbos that may work on a car, but remember, a turbo is part of a system. May different variables that make up this system that engineers have already figured and proven. When you pull from one system and try to add it to a whole new application, you need to do similar research. Learn how to read a turbo map, it helps.
