What tire fits?

Hey, I have a 95 civic and i wanted to put 17's on it. I was wondering if a 205/40/17 will fit a 17x7 rim and also what is the difference in 205/40/17, 215/40/17 and 225/40/17 tires and will the 215 and 225 fit as well?

Re: What tire fits?

We need a little more info on what type of Civic you have. That will tell us what the original tire size is and what load index is the minimum you should use.

But another way to do this is to look at the vehicle placard. It is usually located on the doorpost or in the glove box.

But my gut feel is that a P205/4-R17 is too small and you need a P205/50R17 88 LI or a P215/45R17 87 LI

Hope this helps
