Re: ???

Some have 3 wheels - most have 4
Some are powered by Diesel - most by gasoline
Some are open - most have windows
Some are made in the Orient - the good ones are made in the U.S.A

"Most have windows" <-- implies some do not have windows

I'm curious what cars don't have windows?

That's a contrevercial quote. I beg to differ. MercBenz is german :P and mitsu isn't american either :P!

I drive an american Chrysler Eagle Vision, it's a nice car :P.

Re: ???

Check JD powers long term reliability ratings.
The German cars are falling fast. :-(
Mercedes came in waaaay down the list. They appear to be living off the reputation they earned in the 1980's

If you're assuming that "American" means from the United States, the Eagle doesn't fit that bill. The Eagle Vision was built in Canada.

Re: ???

DaimlerChrysler is the american-german company that owns the brands Chrysler, Mercedes, Maybach, Smart, Dodge, Jeep and so on. The company is mainly owned by american and european investment companies.

Today there are very few brands that aren't owned by or somehow associated with any of the large international automobile companies.

Usually american car companies have held a little lower quality standard since they usually haven't spent more money than needed, no expensive production methods, materials or technologies unless absolutely neccesary. This wasn't the case with most european and japanese manufacturers.
Today much developement is done together within the companies and shared by the brands. Some parts are also shared between brands, so if you buy a Ford you can get parts from Volvo in it and the other way around. Sometimes they also use a little more parts from a certain brand... like almost the whole car, Chrysler Crossfire is one example, it's based on the Mercedes SLK.

Sometimes JD Powers ratings can be a little strange.

I'm not sure your comment came out right.

DaimlerChrysler AG is a German company (okay...if you want to say it, it's "German-American"). The Chrysler Group is their American operation, but it's not an "American company."

The Eagle Vision was built exclusively in Canada, but the Eagle brand wasn't exclusive to Canada.
