problems during hot start of camry 99
Hi,
My 99 camry V6 LE, gives me some problems once in a while when I try to start, while the engine is warm. The starter does not seem to do anything, but if I press the gas pedal, while I tunr the ignition it starts. This problem happens very rarely and I changed the battery and it became even less, but it does still happen once in a while and I am afraid someday it will stop starting. I am guessing the temperature sensors or some sensor that controls the fuel to the engine. Any help is appriciated. Ashutosh |

Don't touch the gas pedal when you try and start it. It might be your shifter lock-out that prevents you from starting when the shifter is not in Park. Sometimes the lock-out malfunctions. A problem that intermittent and infrequent is impossible to solve logically.
