Shocks and Rubber bumper (rear)
1. Anyone know where I can get the rear end suspension Bump stops for a 1990 Cherokee Ltd? One is rotted out so I might as well replace both. The dealer wants about $40 each which is way high.
2. Also any ideas on new shocks choices? I have Gabriel Premium Gas Truck Shocks with about 120k miles on them. A few people mentioned that if I don't do much off road or pulling I should go with softer shocks. Thanks Last edited by viper1861; 09-15-2004 at 08:20 PM. |

Re: Shocks and Rubber bumper (rear)
Hey jeepers, I had the same problem along with warped rear leaf springs. fixed prob four months ago with adjustable air assist shocks which I bought at advance for $70. may be able to get better deal if you are willing to wait longer to recieve parts. I pull trailers often with mine and the shocks helped handling and ride unbeliveably. they don't make it ride as hard empty as people told me either as long as you run reasonable pressure in the system. it used to bottom out but the new shocks no longer allow it to ride that low. good luck

Thanks for the advice.
Since Monroe was having a buy 4 get one free shock rebate I went with reflex shocks all around. As for the bump stops $45+ for each was too much so I'll make my own or salvage the old ones. Thanks |
