to all the turbo'd h22 ludes out there

i was just wondering how much boost you run with stock internals and with out sleeves i've heard you can run 5-6 psi comfortably with a daily driver, but i've also seem some people running 8+ psi with stock internal's and no sleeves

Re: to all the turbo'd h22 ludes out there

H series motors are strong, you could, and I stress could, push 6psi without changing the internals, but that begs the question why? Engines and turbos are expensive, why would you risk the life of your enging by pushing it past its safe limits? If your going to spend the money, save a little bit longer and buy the internals and lower the compresion, that way your safe and you can increase your boost later down the road. IMO the 60ish horsepower gained form a turbo at low boost isn't worth the risk.

I agree i've heard from people with b18c1 swaps run 6psi and have no problems, correct me if im wrong but arent the compression ratio's of a b18c1 and a h22a the same? as for building internals first, i ask this question becuase on Preludeonline, there is a guy selling a Greddy turbo kit for 2,300 which is just in my range.

Re: to all the turbo'd h22 ludes out there

Im running a custom t3/t04e turbo kit and its running 6psi on stock internals. Everything is very safe and reliable. You can go up to 8psi safely but even that is pushing it.....6psi would be a safe place to stay until you buy internals. And I have been running this setup for 7 months now and have had no problems.

Re: to all the turbo'd h22 ludes out there

I use the A'pexi turbo timer.

I have raced many a Civic, Eclipse, Mustang, and Camaro. I have beat every Civic, Eclipse, and Camaro I have ran against. There was a Mustang that smoked me....I later found out he had about $10000 in the motor and was running nitrous on top of that so I had no chance.

Re: to all the turbo'd h22 ludes out there

Hey guys, this is my first post, I have a 92 Lude Si, mods include: 17in wheels and tires, AEM Cold air intake, Fuel Rail, Brembo Brakes, B&M Short throw Shifter, Centerforce Stage 2 clutch, Apex'i Stainless Exhaust, Integra Type R shift knob and boot. Ground Wire kit, Hose kit. My questions is, when u say "redue internals" What exactly does that entail? My car has 110,000 miles on it but i wanna keep the motor. I contemplaiting swaping to a VTec or I would like to swap out the internals, what would be the price difference? What does "Internals" mean, what would all the internals consist of? COuld somebody E-mail me with a list? Thanks!!!!
