Beating the rust

The old tow ball on my truck is way past its due, rusted like you wouldn't believe. The nut holding it in place won't budge. I've drowned it in WD-40 hoping to get it loose to no avail. I'm about to try using some good ol' Coca-Cola. Any other ideas using conventional man power tools?

Re: Beating the rust

Try tightening it first and then loosening it after you spray it with penetrating oil. WD40 doesn't do the job. You can wang a breaker bar with a large hammer to work things loose.
