My car quits running after long drives!! HELP
My 1994 Ford Taurus will just quit running after it has been ran like all day. It waites like an hour and then it will start back up. I have replaced the thermastat in it and when it does die, no lights come on and the car is in the normal area on the gauge, what is wrong with my car?

If you have no lights, assuming they work ok otherwise, you have no electric to start or run the vehicle. Check your battery and solenoid connections. May be a one of the control modules going bonkers after heating up too. For why did you change the thermostat?

It was leaking antifreeze and I thought that was the problem so I changed it. Turned out there was a whole in the radiator which has also been replaced. But when you drive the car for a long time or its extremly hot out, it acts like it wants to start but it won't. Then when you do get it started and get going, it dies after awhile. I don't understand what is wrong with it, if its a module or a sensor if there is a difference. Please help me someone.

I'm not too sure about your lights, but I had a similar problem with my car stalling a few years back and it turned out to be the fuel pump that was overheating. Once the car sat for a while it would run again. It also quit less during cold days and more on hot days. The problem happened once in a while at first and continued to happen more often as the pump got worse. Once I replaced the fuel pump the problem stopped.

o thats nice, I don't even want to know how much those cost to replace, that is what my Grandpa said he thought was wrong with it.

I purchased a 94Gl new and never had any problems with it but, a couple of friends of mine had the exact same problem your are describing.
Any way a few years ago I received a letter from an attorney that was starting a law suit against Ford for knowing about a bad coil and not doing anything about it. I never did reply to it or even hear anything else about it. You can take the coil in and have it checked but it may or may not test bad. Hope you figure it out Mike
