fuel pump pulsator

I was wondering if my hard start, excessive cranking condition may be due to a damaged fuel pump pulsator. I was looking up info on alldata, and it says that the pulsator is a flexible connector between pump and metal line in the tank, the rupture is due to exposure to gasoline with high ethanol content. Has anyone heard of this before

My truck is 92 k1500
