I bought a 1996 Sierra a few months ago and would like to know if there's a way to bypass the headlights from coming on when the ignition is turned on but the engines not running.
I haven't been able to find any information on this safety feature and the headlights being on at all times is really starting to annoy me, this is especially true in the evenings. I see that this question has been asked before in this forum but there were no replies. Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks, Renno |

Re: 96 Sierra - Headlight Safety Feature
you are talking about DRL. If so just remove the plug from the diode. It is on the right side of the steering column. On the steel tube just reach up and unplug it. but if you want them on some time reach back up and plug it back in or tie into one of the wires and put a togle on it.

Re: 96 Sierra - Headlight Safety Feature
if your truck has a dome override button...try pushing that on/off 4-5 times...if it works..you'll have to do it each time you cycle the key though
