Headlight headache

Here's my situation....My left headlight lamp stays on regardless if the headlight is up or down. Even with the engine off and key out of the ignition the lamp is still on. I would pull the the fuse and replace it and the lamp will turn off...but as soon as I start it up and shut it down , the lamp's back on. I replaced the lamp and the fuse ..no luck. It's a 93 240sx coupe.

Re: Headlight headache

dunno what the problem is, maybe a short?!?!?! or maybe your car is possessed.....but headlights work when car is off anyway since they run off of the battery (hence thats y people drain their battery when they leave there lights on). So wait im trying to picture this...your one headlight is on 24/7? lol i would have to laugh if i saw that at like 3 A.M. driving home. good luck at finding the prob.

Re: Headlight headache

Sounds almost like a bad switch. So it is only the left? Try sanding the metal on the headlight grounds and for the battery. They should be black wires right next to the motors for the headlights. Probably won't work but it is worth a shot.

Re: Headlight headache

Just want to add something that I forgot to mention in the begining. When I pull the fuse to shut the light off ...I have pull the fuse for the right side headlamp to shut of the left light.......(theme to twilight zone) I don't know..... maybe it's telling me something

Re: Headlight headache

maybe it is a miss wiring. Like someone tried to splice wires or something and rewired it wrong. Check the harness just to make sure the wiring is fine.
