i had a carbed 84 accord that did pretty much the same thing.... it was burnin the oil... thats why it smoked... usually if i floored it thru third it would burn it off and run fine... really sounds like your burnin off your oil tho... i used to carry around cases of oil

Re: what causes cars to smoke??

yea, mine burns oil only at high rpms or when i step on the gas hard

bad rings and/or leaky valve seals usually cause your car to smoke and burn oil - as long as the smoke is blue anyway

Re: what causes cars to smoke??

whoa, what a second. Did you just say you put a carb head on a d15b2? If so, then theres your problem. I didn't think it was possible to do so. The d15b2 is a fuel injected engine, not carb.

Re: what causes cars to smoke??

The head is probably off the D15B (carb engine). When I went from D15B2 to D15B I just assumed I would still get a DPFI engine. Boy was I wrong! :P

The heads are slighlty different from the block.

Re: what causes cars to smoke??

if the stock manifolds fit, then the head is correct.

most likely it is your valve stem seals causing the smoke.

a new head (or rebuild) should solve your problems.

Run a compression test before that and post the numbers just to make sure.
