Top Speed
I have gotten in two arguments with this guy over the top speed of a factory 2001 civic ex. He swares it’s 115mph. I know he is full of crap b/c I’ve had mine to 124mph@6200rpm.
Will you respond by telling Chase (the guy) how/why he is so wrong…then I will print off the responses and finally shut him up. THANKS |

yea..that dude is soo wrong. what a moron. Can he get any more stupider? or is he just a nincompoop?! Hey heres an idea...LOOK UP THE SPECS!
sorry but that was kinda a dumb question when we have the wonderful thing called "the internet" to find all this out so you dont have to make posts like this. Sorry to blast ya, but you could have went to a spec site. no hard feelings tho. :sun:

oh yea, heres an idea...take him for a ride in your civic and show him it goes faster.....problem solved....then you can hit him in the face and push him out and ask him how the ground feels at 124 mph. hehehehe

Yeah, its hard to tell the exact top speed of a car, because there are many different factors. One could be the speedometer is off. another could be that you were driving on a slight downhill, and that got you up faster, another could be the wind was blowing into, you causing your car to be slower.

i'm an chem. engr. student wihout much time. I figured someone would have the answer on the top of there head....so yeah stop being a dick.
  I don't want to blow by a cop doing 120+ to find out how fast my car will go. Do you know what...or what do you think the avg. top speed is???? |

I've gotten my civic to 120 (on the speedo) with my foot buried, Then, I got on a slight down grate, and my car got up to 129. nearly redlined.
