Need proffessional Help?!
Have many questions?!?!
I aiming to buy a civic coupe but with CTR engine (CTR= Civic Type R)and 6 manual transmission gearbox. On many websites i read that the type R engine is used on the integra and the civic and they are in similar dimensions, but with only different part numbers> i think that the civic type r engine model is K20C (type R engine) i know that the new type R engine can fit in the coupe but is it possible to order the car from the manufacturer like this? Is it possible?????? |

Ummm?
The K20c is the new I-VTEC engine in the new Integra/RSX. It is not a bolt in job into a 6g Civic coupe. or for that matter a 7g civic. However it is in the new 7g Civic Type-R in Japan and the UK, it comes with a 6sp g/box. The old 6g Civic Type-R used a highly tuned version of the B16a, and only had a 5speed g/box. There is a new Civic Si ment to be coming out in the states which is a detuned version of the CTR, i.e. I think it uses the 160hp version of the K20C that is in the lesser model of the RSX and Integra.

If youre buying a coupe and it's supposeibly has a CTR engine...make sure it says B16B on the block next time you look.
