Make, model and year, please!!

This little rant is for a very small number of our bretheren right here at AF.

I hang out on the Engineering/Technical forum and give my arrogant (yet helpful!!) advice on other members car related questions.
Usually its newbies posting their questions, which is fine, but
PLEASE if you have a specific question, POST YOUR VEHICLE'S YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL IN YOUR THREAD!

So often, the questions relate to a specific vehicle, yet so often the member refers to their 'car' with no other information.
If myself and others are going to help, damn well take 10 seconds and give us the background on your vehicle!! Otherwise your question is useless!!
How the hell do we know if your problem is with a 2002 Acura NSX or a 1954 Fiat Fettuccini? It makes a hell of a difference!
Be sure to include the year! Don't just say my Camaro or my F150!! They have been making those things since the dawn of time! For example, the 1967 models have precious little in common with the 2001 models, so if you want a specific, helpful answer, give us some detail!!

shit, mines got pistons.....

but i agree with MagicRat...even though your in, say, the Escort forum, there's three generations each with things specific to the generation. and I think theres about 5 or 6 different engines. And that's just Escorts.....

Re: Make, model and year, please!!

any one who doesn't include the year, model, make and engine isn't really serious about the help people give. would you go to a mechanic and say i have a problem with my mustang without telling the details.

and if they do they deserve to drive or even own a car.

I feel your pain. Most of the sections have a FAQ which some don't bother to read. Yet they want quick answers to their questions without giving the most details as possible. It is frustrating. I find it even more frustrating when they post car problems inthe Introductions section. Hello, its to introduce your self and to tell us about you and your car, not to start off asking questions.
