Headgasket?

ok, i'm, pretty sure my head gasket is completely gone, if i'm driving around and gotta get onto the brakes hard then hit the gas again tons of white smoke comes outta my exhaust, and i mean tons, like a huge friggin smoke screen,
i checked in the oil and didnt see any coolant and didnt see any oil in the coolant, also one of my friends said theres slack with my piston rings or something and i should get my cylinders honed to make sure, could this be the problem too??

Were you revving the shit out of your car?
I know my piston rings are just about shot. When I rev past 4500 or so it starts to smoke, not a smoke screen though. Its pretty funny looking ... the higher the rpm the more smoke. Dose this happen allot? And if your getting the DOHC ZC (I think that was you) don’t worry about getting you cylinders honed or new rings ... I would say not worth it.

well i wanna go DOHC ZC but have no money for it, and like if i hammer the brakes then hit the gas (around like 2k rpm) it starts smokin, but yes i do rev the piss outta this car, also, i was sitting at a red light and looked behind me and it was smoking then too, i started driving and about 10 - 15 seconds later, the smoke stopped, but it doesnt happen all the time

Re: Headgasket?

Doesn't sound like a headgasket at all to me. Does the smoke smell like coolant? If your headgasket is anywhere as bad as mine was you would definetly smell coolant. Also, when I would first start my car in the morning it would idle like it had a cam and puff tons of white smoke until it warmed up. You said you dont have coolant in your oil or oil in your coolant. Once again, when my headgasket went bad I had alot of oil in my coolant, ecspecially in my overflow, and I was going through a ton of coolant. Try draining your oil and look for gray crab, looking on your dipstick doesn't always do it.

But from what you are describing, it sounds like valve seals. Does it smoke much on the top end or just the bottom end?.....of your RPM's that is.

If it is your headgasket, have fun, it took me a full weekend to do by myself, and with some help from Ace$nyper with removing the old gasket. And don't expect a new head to fix it either, could still be piston rings.

valve seals were already done, gasket doesnt take too long to do, i've done it before, it smokes on both bottom and top end but not all the time, and the smoke smells kinda sweet so i'm ussuming coolant
