88-91 Civic HB and CRX exhaust the same?

Hello, I am new here. I was wondering if an 88-91 civic hatch cat-back system would be the exact same as a 91 CRX system? If so....why does a company like HKS charge $440 for the civic hb system and $650 or more for the CRX system?

Re: 88-91 Civic HB and CRX exhaust the same?

..possibly b/c the crx is more popular? not sure..

but the exhausts are different..slightly... the midpipe on the h/b is longer than that of the crx.. its possible to make the civic work on the crx, a couple inches needs to be cut out of the midpipe and then be rewelded...

the hatch exhaust makes a bend to go around the gas tank and the crx one has a smaller bend so it wont fit onto the hatch. But i have no idea why they would charge more for the crx
