I started my car yesterday (94 v6) and my ilum. dash lights didn't work.(the speedometer and gauges etc. do) After a bit I realized that my tail lights and parking lights don't work but my break lights, head lights and turn signals do work. Also my car isn't making the chime noise when the lights are left on with no keys. I checked the fuses under the dash and they looked fine. I looked at the ones under the hood and the ones I could see looked ok but I didn't want to start pulling them out. Anyone know what this might be?

Re: Electrical problem?...please help
Still sound slike a fuse problem. Double checl all the fuses, and even try replacing the fuse for that curcuit.

Someone told me that it might have somthing to do with the light switch. I thought about it and everything that should work when you would turn just the parking lights on don't work. The headlights do though. Is this a likely possibility?

Re: Electrical problem?...please help
It's quite possible. Years ago, my dad had a 1971 LTD, that had exactly the same problem you have described, and that was what it turned out to be. I can't remember how he traced it back to that, but he changed the headlight switch and everything worked fine. I know there is a huge difference in years between a 71 and a 94, but the switch itself probably hasn't changed that much. Basically the same type, 2 pull out steps and twist it to dim or brighten the dash lights. It's worth a try. Just grab one from the wreckers, (hopefully you will get a good one), if you don't want to lay out the cash for a brand new one, just to try it. But I can't see them being all that expensive even brand new.

Re: Electrical problem?...please help
No problem. Glad I could offer something helpful. Actually, you reminded me of that, when you posted the switch possibilty yourself.
