weird electrical problem...
i did a search, but couldn't find anything. i have a '93 del sol s with the d15 engine and 5sp transmission. when the car is decellerating (sp?) the electricity pulses making the car surge and all of the lights that happen to be on to dim and get bright. it seems to happen the most at around 2k rpms. the battery light comes on and pulses in sync with the valley of the surge. when accellerating (sp?) the engine pulses a bit, but there is no noticeable pulse in the lights. last month i've replaced the alternator, spark plugs and wires. the pulsing started mildly when i replaced the alternator (which worked perfectly except for the shot bearings...) and spark plugs/wires. this last week i replaced the battery when the pulsing started getting really pronounced. it didn't help. i have checked the connections on the alternator and they are tight. could it be the distributor cap and rotor? it would be great if it were that simple, but my luck usually doesn't roll that way...thanks in advance for any help!
