-Progress- Lotus Honda 99T
It's been 20 years since I've built a model. So here is the 2nd one in the last 2. Bunch more to do in the next few weeks. Box stock nothing special.
Monocoque ![]() So many rivets ![]() Ready for Camel Yellow ![]() Basic engine still a lot to do. ![]() Primed and ready for paint...or more primer.

Re: -Progress- Lotus Honda 99T
The 20 year break doesn't appear to have hindered your skills, you've picked right up at a very high level. Very clean and precise so far. Are those the molded in belts? They are not supposed to look that good!
Love the subject too, is your kit one of those to include the dreaded tobacco decals? Fantastic to see some openwheelers built on this forum, I need to do an F1 car soon. |

It's hard to believe you quit that long. Looks like a good clean build.

Re: -Progress- Lotus Honda 99T
Nice progress on this Lotus. I built one of these as my first model after my 20 year break and it came out well. I know what you mean by the rivet count. You'll find that modeling has progressed greatly in the last 20 years with photoetched stuff, carbon fiber decals, and many other things.

Nice build! Looking forward to seeing it done... I'm doing a Tameo 1:43 metal version of the same car at the moment!

It's been awhile since I started but here are some updates. Should have this done sometime this summer.
Body painted, just needs polishing and then decals ![]() Still need a few parts like valve covers and air ducts ![]() Really hate it that the exhaust pipes are two parts (where it comes from the turbo and then just before the suspension arms you see a joint.) should have built and puttied them first then painted and installed. Learned from this for the next time. ![]() Stock interior the molded belts don't tlook too bad.

Nice to have you back BRM.
In fact 20 year without building model didn’t affect your skills because it’s looking real good. This was also my first model after five years without building anything. I have another one ready to be build soon, but this one will be to build the 98T in is black J.P.S. scheme. Keep the good work. |

Re: -Progress- Lotus Honda 99T
Looking slick mate. Can't wait to see it done. Must post some pics of my 1:43 version some time. Will you be doing it as Senna's number 12 car?

So I finally finished it. Had a setback because of overspray when painting the black inside the body shell...so I had to repaint the body. All in all it turned out ok, my next model will be better. Learned a lot doing this one.
