Question AC fuse blows out

My Car AC fuse keeps blowing off, i replaced it and worked for some time and blew again, i replaces few more times with same result.

Now the fuse blows as soon the AC is turned ON.

My AC compressor is actually going bad, the pulley vibrates and makes scrapping noises. Is this the reason for the fuse to blow ?

Re: AC fuse blows out

More than likely. depending on your vehicle the computer is reading no pressure probably due to low freon. Since you say it vibrates and makes scrappy noises DO NOT turn it on any more as it may damage the compressor and THAT may cost you quite a bit. Take your vehicle to a local shop and have them add freon and add UV LEAK DETECTOR this will tell you if you have a major or minor leak or just a low freon level.

Oh yeah have them check the oil level in it too unless it is integral where the freon a oil are miked together.

Re: AC fuse blows out

But will the fuse blow out, bcoz of low freon ?

My question is, The compressor bearing is going bad, will that cause the fuse to blow ?

the AC when working blows cold air, guess there is no leak or low on freon.

I read some where that if the compressor is going bad, it will draw more current to operate and will blow the fuse, is that true ?

Re: AC fuse blows out

Yes It Is True Using More Than Average Current Will Blow Your Fuse. You Said "when Working" That Means You Do More Than Likely Do Have Low Freon Or A Leak When It Comes Out Hot Or Warmer That Means You Have Low Freon. Have Them Add Oil To The Compressor As I Mentioned Earlier To Avoid Compressor Lock-up And Bearing Damage!
