Upgrading Stereo without loosing features in 2000 LT
Can I add a sub-woofer or more speakers and an amp to the OEM stereo without loosing features such as the rear audio controls? Has anyone found a good aftermarker radio that doesn't mess with the electronics of the car.
I'd like to improve sound without making drastic changes to the dashboard. Thanks! |

You should have no trouble adding a subwoofer, any installation shop will install a sub with a crossover (so only the bass goes to the sub), and this will not affect functionality. As long as an amp is installed as well though, to power the subwoofer output. You may want to have someone else install this, since the wiring for the factory setup will have to be modified.
As far as aftermarket, you stuck with the deck in the dash if you want the rear controls to work too. |
