W5mg1 Vr4 T Tranny

just got my vr twin turbo about 2 !/2 months ago.
It was supposed to have newer tranny RPS stage 3 or stage 2 clutch etc. Ive put less than a thousand miles on it.
clutch went while out of town. ARG! the stiff pedal from so called rps was just a bad presure plate (go figure) had clutch replaced. they took it for a test drive said they heard something pop lost second and first gear/ output shaft spine stripped. third and reverse ok. as far as I know forth and fifth are ok. it has power to front wheels but not the backs. another hand full of hair!
since this is my first vr this has turned into a full time job doing the research etc. any help, any pointers would be appreciated. any heads up on no power to rears? is that from the output shaft spline stripped or is there possibly more wrong? (25spline)
Its been at the shop for a month with the repair and waiting on parts etc. they suggested I pick up the tranny and take it some where for repair.
considered shipping to kormex but that would probably take another 3weeks.
anyone have a used one in Wisconsin Madison Milwaukee area? at this point I just wanna get it back on the road.

To me it sounds like the POP was the output shaft letting go. I have never heard of a OS stripping out when driven normally. My bet is that the were lanuching the piss out if the car and broke it.

have you heard of the output shaft causing probs with 1ST AND SECOND?

another question: if the output shaft is stripped will that cause front wheel to move but not the backs?

Yes, that is exactly what will happen. The output shaft is the peice that deived the rear wheels.

And OS will have no effect on the 1-2 shifting. But if they were launching the driving the piss out of it they could have beat up the syncros.
