CTR Pistons - Install and Compression Question

Well I might be gettin some used or new CTR pistons soon, and had a few questions:

1) Can I run stock valves with 11:1 compression? How about 92-Octane? What about a 1-Layer Spoon Head Gasket making 11.3:1 compression (Same Questions).

2) How hard are pistons to install? What can go wrong? My buddy that is building an LSVtec is gonna help me put them in hopefully.

3) Do you think I'll have to get the cylinder walls honed? Theres 40k miles on my car.

Thanks guys -

2) it's shouldn't be too hard to put the pistons in. make sure you have a ring compressor and also make sure you protect the rods, so you don't mess up the journals. Make sure the crank is turned so that which ever piston your putting in the journal for that is all the way at BDC so that it doesn't affect the rod when your putting in the piston.

3) you may need to get the cylinders honed so that it can help seat the rings better.

hope i helped a little.

Later,
Becca

i'm pretty sure any ring compressor will work. Just make sure you can fit it around the piston and rings and also fit it into the cylinder. sometimes they don't clamp around it right.

Good luck.
