This was my first car model.

This was my first car model. It's a Corvette '57. Sadly, when i was 12 years old i wanted to restore it.
But when i had sarted to cut away al the glue i lost al the interest in it. So here it is, my first model in pieces.

Re: This was my first car model.

Hi Anton!
Cool, I wish I had my first atempts still laying around. Well, I don't so therefore it's nice to see other peoples first builds. I have some pics of old ones from me, but that's only planes and one helicopter. Have a look if you're interested, it was a blast from the past when my parents showed them to me this summer. Had totaly forgotten they stil existed.

Niclas

Edit:
Be very careful with this one, don't do anything with it or you'll regret it for the rest of your life. You can buy a new one but you will never build your first model again!

Re: This was my first car model.

Cool.
I think I may have killed of a few of my first attempts while I was still a kid.
I remember some pretty serious car accidents in 1/24 scale in my parents driveway involving some nail polish remover and a cigarette ligther. Freak accidents really that just happend to take place when I was around. I even think there may have been a passenger jet airliner involved in one of these craches at some time...

Is that finger paint? J/K. It would be cool to come across some of my old stuff. I'm sure they were trashed long ago.

My mother got me into modeling when I was 5 years old , she bought me a 55 chevy snap tight , a TA and a "black and white" all snap tight.

This is my first Skill 2 that I can remember building.

Re: This was my first car model.

LOL, it seems everyone tried to paint their first models with a brush, including me. Anyway, at least you finished your first model. I broke major pieces on my first few models before I could finish them.

Nothing wrong with brush painting, takes longer to get good results than with airbrush or spray paint. Not the first but an early one, and believe me...this one is the only one looking this good before I got my airbrush. Don't know how I managed to get this shine with a brush and good old Humbrol 21!? It's built some 15 years ago, I think?

Re: This was my first car model.

my first build is an old Toyota stalet (about 10 years ago or more), I did a stupid thing, which is after I paint the car, I want it dry faster, so I did put it in oven with low heat, but After I came back from toilet, the car melt like cheese! lol~

I remember that i got that vette and an other car from a friend of dad. I had no printings for it so i built it as i thougt it would be.
