canada conversion

I bought a 2003 gmc that had a canada conversion. I can not turn off the headlights with the off switch. Dealer says it is disabled and they can not enable it. Anyone know a fix for this? Thanks

Up here in the bitter cold known as Canada, the government decided a few years ago to mandate that all new vehicles come equipped with daytime running lights. On all the vehicles that I've driven up here I've noticed that the only time that they shut off is when the parking brake is engaged. That said, I'm guessing that the lights are probably connected to the ingnition and from what little I've seen on the subject, there is no quick cheap fix. However keep up the search you may get lucky.
