Motor Info
I've only just discovered this site so I will share with you here (who don't already know) about other sites I've used for information purposes!
I have a 1987 Mazda B2000 made in Japan, pre-Ford involvement. The 2.0 SOHC motor in this truck is refered to as the F-series motor, specifically FE. The 2.2 SOHC version found in the truck as well as the Ford Probe and Mazda 626/MX-6 is refered to as the F2. Mazda made a 2.0 DOHC version of these motors refered to as the FE3 that was only available overseas. Mazda sold the tooling for this motor to KIA and KAI put the motors in their Sportages. I swapped into my truck a motor from a 1999 KIA Sportage. Since my truck was carburated, there was lots to do to make this work! http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...33_74_full.jpg I used the following sites for LOTS of compatability info and performance discussions. http://www.probetalk.com http://www.mx6.com http://www.solomiata.com You can see all I did to my truck at my site at cardomain.com! http://www.cardomain.com/id/oddballracing I hope that you'll check these sites out and find all the answeres to your performance/compatability questions! Enjoy! Karl |
