Um, what site exactly are you looking at? There's no problem at all with putting it on an auto or manual. Same engine, just different tranny's.

Technical Notes: This is for engines with carburetors only, not released for TBI usage. This engine does not have a clutch boss on the side of the block for standard transmission application.

Re: 3.4 crate engine to replace 2.8???

Ok well do you currently have a 2.8 or 3.1 in your bird? If so, then that engine will go in fine. The block is identical to that of the 2.8 and 3.1, so everything on those engines will transfer right over onto the 3.4. Shouldn't give you any problems. Whether or not if it's a manual or auto. Don't know why they stated it's only for auto's, that's just weird.

Re: 3.4 crate engine to replace 2.8???

Rather than buy a crater, consider finding the correct F-body block and enlist a good engine builder. You'll probably save money and get more power. Crate motors are convenient, but that's where their advantage ends.
