Late '90's Supra vs. Me, outcome?
I know someone in the band that said they wanted to race me. He has a late 90's Supra, I think it's an Annaversary(spell?) Edition. It's an auto non-turbo with exhaust. I have a 96 Maxima with variable intake manifold, downpipe, and intake; it's a manual. I was wonderin if anyone knew what the outcome would be. I have found that the Supra has 220HP and 210TQ, but found no 1/4 mile times. I can run about mid 14's. Be worth putting money on it?
Sorry if street racing is not accepted here. Mooney |

Re: Late '90's Supra vs. Me, outcome?
I think it would be a good race from a stop. I would probably put my money on the supra but I don't know how your car is and I've not had a chance to ride in a modified maxima. Should be fun ethier way, just be safe about it.

Re: Late '90's Supra vs. Me, outcome?
considering that the variable intake and downpipe are on there, you're probably making as much hp at the engine as the supra and more tq than the supra. i'd put money on the maxima.
a downpipe on a 4th gen adds lots of power and the variable intake will give significant gains on the top end, not to mention you're about 300 lbs lighter.

Re: Late '90's Supra vs. Me, outcome?
Your probably right. I'm one of those people that drives both cars and relizes what's faster. I've owned both non-turbo and twin turbo supras and I know how they do. I have not the slightest clue how your car reacts so I have no way of knowing anything about them. Just line them up and see what happens. Best of luck to both of you.

Thanks for the replys. I see him tonight so I will ask if he still wants to. I will be safe, I would be so mad if I killed my car.

i think the deciding factor will be your manual tranny....it'll be tight but you should win with a decent launch and hitting your shifts....
