ok i have heard around that the lancer evolution is now the fastest "regular" car meaning regular an in evry day type of cars. like honda civic, eclipse, focus, rx-8, rsx,integra,supra,skyline ect...

is this true?

I think a Supra can beat it top speed wise, but not in a track race. I guess it is one of the fastest everyday 4 cylinder car.

Compairing an Evo to a Civic doesn't do justice. You have to match it up with cars that are on the same level as it.

i think smurf1 has a point, this car is so comparible to other cars its old running so many others. i do feel its the fastest car you can by under $35grand, so i think it is the fastest regular car. further more the supra is not a regular car. and if you compare 2 cars and 1 car only wins in one situation and the other wins all the others then i think the other car is faster.

"regular car"... I think thats too vague. It is a speedy car, but it is sure not the fastest one on the streets. I would say it is one of the best handling cars, but not fastest.

The Supra is a 6 cylinder car, that's probably why. Plus it has a twin turbo version.

The only reason why Evo isn't comparable to a civic is because the civic does not have a turbo... An evo and a turbo'd civic type-R is comparable don't you think?

Not only can the Supra beat it top speed wise and on the free way because its a inline 6, and twin turbo, but also because it doesnt have as close ratio gears as the Evo. The Evo has very close ratio transmisson, so its top speed isnt the highest.

oh...and NEVER compare an economey car like a Civic to an Evo. Even if the Civic came with a turbo, that doesnt mean shit. Its not ALWAYS about power, dont froget about handling. The Evo is AWD, made for the track, and the Civic is an economey car made for soccer moms. Dont ever compare a Civic to an Evo again.

I SAID CIVIC TYPE-R, if that's an economy car to you, that must mean that ALL FWDs are economy. Are you saying that if I put a turbo onto my civic, the handle WILL BE automatically shitty? I BET you don't EVEN KNOW what makes A civic an economy car.

Just because an EVO is AWD, it does not automatically make its handling ALL superior. A track car? What madness! I guess those track racers are stupid after all, all this time they were racing RWD cars (F1, Indy, NASCAR). Why they could've drove an EVO instead, is beyond me, after all, "its not ALWAYS about power".

lol ok ok guys lets calm down the evo is suposedly the fastest car out of the factory .. but the wrx is rht behind it and others aprox 271 hp= evo 215=wrx but with mods and $$$$$ who knows

The reason they dont use AWD in races like F1, Indy... is because AWD cars have more weight and they tend to understeer more than a RWD. Civic Type-R arnt bad cars at all. In fact if you ask me they are very good cars (but HORRIBLE drag cars) I think Evos are still better than them. I think Evos are GREAT track cars, in fact in some cases (and thid HAS been proven) they are faster than Skyline GTRs. But they where designed for Rally racing. So I dont think Type-R Civics will be as good as Evos with turbos, or nawwwwwwz (Paul Walker). But they are good everyday driving cars that can rev to very high RPM. But like I said, I just dont think you can compare the 2. I dont think Type-R Civics bad cars at all, but they arnt the best FWDs and they arnt the best track, rally, or drag cars.
