Question How to change Reading lamps?

Hey Hey
I have a 2002 Sunfire I want to change the little reading lights that are on the rearview mirror to little blue lights (to match my blue dome light). I tried getting these lights out but they wont budge. I even tried getting some tweezers to pull them out but they still woudlnt come out and i was afraid i was going to bust the bulb. They seem to be in there really tight. It seems to be such a simple task that is proving to be a pain in the butt. Can someone please help me out?
Thanks!!

Re: How to change Reading lamps?

use a small flat screwdriver and gently pry the entire cover on the bottom of the mirror (switch and all) down, from the outside "hinged" inward (may be the other way, but if you look you'll see where the screwdriver fits, it's slotted on the light). the whole unit will drop out, switch and all, and you will see three wires and the bulb. the bulb doesn't remove from the front, you have to pull it out from the rear to replace it, at least on mine.

At this time, if you wish to color the lenses, you should carefully remove them with the same small screwdriver by pressing the tabs on the backside. The lens is snapped into place so it may take some work to get it out, just be gentle.

As for the domelight, it shouldn't remove that hard, kinda hold the headliner and pull down while bending in the back (wider) part of the lens, if I remember correctly, been a few moths since I last removed them all.
