Damn master Cylinder...

alright... today We put on my New Crossdrilled Brembo Disk ( look sick as hell) and we take it out for a rip... gotta pump the pedal... first we thing it's air in the lines ( had 2 seized calipers) do we bleed the lines and give it an other run... still spongy.

then we realise that when we pump the pedal, the revs go up... my buddy looks at me and tells me that I have a bad master cylinder... great...

will an integra master cylinder or Civic EX fit in my Si? I know the Teg is a little bit larger and I'm told the EX is larger as well... or should I just get a stocker ?

any imput

Kun

I'm not sure but i do know that Jeef put a '88 accord in his rex. He said it worked really well and better than his stock.

The rpm's will always raise a little when you pump the brakes. It doesnt mean you have a bad master cylinder. It does this because the vacuum drops and cause idle to raise. Are there any other symptoms of your brake problems? Have you done a brake booster test?

Yeah when I replaced the front pads and bled the lines it did that and freaked me out a little too. But apparently the rpms are supposed to raise up a little to build up pressure. I sometimes still get a lack of pressure so I'll eventually have to deal with it... oh well.

Re: Damn master Cylinder...

It very likely could be air in the master cylinder. How much brake fluid did you let leak out of your system when you did the brake component upgrade? If air got into the master cylinder, you're going to have to bench bleed it to get the air out. (or you can bleed the brakes on the car a million times to get all the air bubbles out).
