My wife's 1993 Lumina has a peculiar problem. When you push the button for the heater or defroster the fan lights (left side) light up, but the fan does not move any air. Is there a relay switch, cluster or fuse that might contol this? Also her horn does not work, and wondered if there may be a relationship. Is the horn on a fuse also?
Many many thanks in advance. It's a bear defoging the inside of the windows when it's chilly outside in the mornings. |

Re: Heater and AC fan NO GO!
They may be on the same fuse, but I don't think so. There is usally a fuse dedicated to the blower, because it is a high-amp accessory. If you can access the connections for the blower under the hood, pull them off and make sure they are not corroded or loose. Possible the dash control has gone south, but if it is indicating blower speed, I wouldn't think so. Turn it on high and give the housing a good whack. Sometimes the motor will get caught on a dead spot in the windings if it is starting to go bad.
