gt body on exp chasse?

Hi everyone I have a 86 ford escort exp and I know the parts off a escort gt will fit but I was wondering if a body of one would fit on my chasse? im hoping its a direct bolt on fit but if its not what do I have to do? any input would help thanks

They're unibodies, so you can't take the "body" off one and put it on the "chassis" of another. Body and chassis are joined in those cars, hence having shock towers in the car. Just stick the best engine/tranny in the best car.

Thanks for your help im just going to put the engine from the exp into the gt. I like the body more and its in better condition,but will a 86 exp engine fit in a 89 gt? please get back to me thanks again by

Is the EXP a Central Fuel Injection or Multiport? Is the GT multiport? Actually, I think both had the 1.9 HO, which had the TFI 4 ignition and computer, so I think they may both work. The only real problem would be if one is CFI (Central Fuel Injection) or EFI (Multiport), although there is a way around that. If you have any other questions, just email me at [email protected]
