rough tranny

every time i start my stang up and shift into reverse or drive it revs to about 2k . Out on the road i noticed it shifts gears pretty hard and its been doing this ever since ive gotten the car. Is this normal or is my transmission gonna die soon???

I'm assuming by your name you have an 87? What model? Either way, sounds like your either low on fluid or its mighty dirty. Check the level and fill if necessary. If the level is fine I'd suggest a flush, you'd be suprised what a simple flush can do!

Make sure you check it when its running and up to temp.

NO actally the 087 in just a random number i chose....i have a 1998 Mustang V6.. The tranny flush seems like agood idea thanks for the advice!
